JYP online audition: foreigners use under-16 or 16-and-over forms, not the Korean under-14 branch

Foreign applicants use JYP’s under-16 or 16-and-over application branches. The under-14 or 14-and-over choices belong to the Korean applicant branch. The current form asks applicants to choose by nationality and says children and teenagers need a legal representative’s consent process. The online audition notice says there is no age, gender or nationality restriction. That eligibility statement does not remove the form’s privacy and consent steps.

This guide addresses choosing a form and reviewing consent, rather than repeating the broad question of whether foreigners can apply. Our existing foreign eligibility guide already explains application versus selection, travel and trainee status. It does not walk through the current nationality selector.

Check the notice before opening a form

ItemWhat the current official notice establishes
RouteOngoing online audition
EligibilityNo age, gender or nationality restriction
Skill categoriesVocal, dance, rap, acting, model
ResultsSuccessful applicants are notified individually
After submissionThe submitted audition cannot be modified

Open the official notice, then choose its application button. The destination is the current application page. An old blog screenshot or a form for a city audition may use different choices. Save the notice URL alongside the branch you actually read.

Nationality selection and separate consent review before recording and final submission Original editorial form-check diagram based on the official notice and current application capture. It is not a JYP screenshot or an admission rule.

Nationality is a different question from residence

A foreign applicant living in Korea should not silently replace nationality with residence when choosing a branch. Read what the selector actually asks. A language toggle changes the interface language; it is not proof that it changes applicant eligibility or consent requirements. If your circumstances do not fit the wording, use the contact or FAQ route shown on the official site before entering personal data.

The current form shows two pairs:

Nationality branchAge choices shown
KoreanUnder 14 /14 and over
ForeignerUnder 16 /16 and over

These are the displayed branch labels, not a new eligibility limit. A foreign applicant aged 14 or 15 should follow the foreign under 16 branch; choosing Korean14 and over simply because they are at least 14 would mix different nationality procedures. A foreign applicant who is 16 follows the16 and-over wording. Use accurate information and read the selected branch’s terms before continuing. The form can change. Recheck the labels on the live page before completing it. This review did not enter an applicant’s identity, upload files or submit an audition.

Different age branches do not impose an audition age cap

The online notice’s unrestricted age statement and an application’s age-related privacy step answer different questions. One tells you who may apply to this route. The other tells you how the portal handles an applicant’s information and consent. Do not read an age-branch button as proof that applicants under 14 are barred from auditioning.

Do not transfer a guardian-consent instruction from the Korean branch to the non-Korean branch without reading that branch’s terms. Equally, an absent age selector on the first screen would not establish that a minor can skip consent. A parent or guardian should review the actual privacy text with a minor applicant before personal information or images are provided. That is editorial preparation advice; the portal’s current instructions control the application.

Prepare files after checking your actual category

The notice gives different category descriptions. Acting asks for one minute of free acting. Model describes walking and three poses. Vocal, dance and rap descriptions identify the skill being evaluated. These category instructions do not establish a universal video length or file-size limit for every branch.

Before recording, read the live upload fields for the chosen category. Note accepted file types, maximum size, number of attachments and any video-link option only if that form displays them. This draft does not invent a shared 50 MB limit from an old company announcement, or recommend a fixed number of photos without current form evidence.

Make a local review copy of the submission. Check that names and contact details are accurate, the chosen category matches the material, and a guardian has read relevant consent text. Keep private identity documents off public video descriptions unless the live official instructions explicitly require an appropriate submission route.

Final review matters because edits are unavailable

JYP states that a submitted audition cannot be modified. Review the actual form before pressing its final button. If a field is wrong after submission, the notice does not establish an editing workaround, guaranteed deletion process or permission to create duplicate entries. Consult the current official FAQ or contact route rather than assuming that resubmitting will solve it.

Results are individually sent to successful applicants. No reply by a particular day does not establish an official rejection deadline. This guide does not promise a review time or rank anyone’s chance of acceptance.

Common decision questions

Can a foreign minor apply? The current notice lists no age or nationality restriction. A foreign minor should select under 16 or 16 and over as appropriate and follow the legal representative consent process displayed for children and teenagers.

Does choosing English mean I should choose a Korean applicant form? Interface language and nationality are different fields. Follow the nationality wording.

Can I edit later? The current notice says submitted auditions cannot be modified. Prepare and review first.

Will JYP pay for travel or issue a visa? This notice and form do not establish those terms. Apply, selection and any later travel arrangement must be kept separate.

Is this a guide to every JYP audition? No. It is limited to the ongoing online notice linked above; project and offline notices have their own conditions.
